Tips for your Pet's Portrait Feel
free to ignore all the following tips and just send me several good, clear photos.
If they are not adequate, I will let you know. * Take
the photo outside for best, natural lighting. An bright overcast day works best.
* Situate the camera so that it is on the same level as your pet and
get as near as possible without blurring the image * Choose
a spot where the background is not cluttered or "busy" *
Use 150mm - 200mm lens, especially for head shots, to minimize distortion.
* Have someone standing behind you to entice your pet with toys,
words and gestures * Take more than one angle and pose
* After taking several rolls of film, ask yourself these questions:
1. Does the shot show the pet's special personality?
2. Are eyes clear, or are they just black holes? 3.
Is this the pose and expression you want painted? I paint from the photo
and will only see the pet as it is displayed there. If the photo is not clear
or accurate, it will not have the quality needed for me to paint a quality
portrait. Send me several of the best shots. *OUR
